Today i show you another location to get the rare gas mask. Also please go check out Redfin72 channel as he reminded me to upload this video. Fallout 4 TOP 5 MODS (PC & XBOX) Week #38 - KID. Welcome back to my mod spotlight series for Fallout 4. In this series we will look at the selection of fun and sometimes cheaty mods that have recently come. About this mod Inspired by Metro 2033, this mod implements a new resource: gas mask filters. Humans are required to wear a gas mask while wandering the wasteland in exterior areas. Meanwhile gas masks consume filters that keep out harmful radioactive dust. Gas masks of the Wasteland desaturation issue - posted in Fallout 4 Mod Troubleshooting: not entirely sure what is causing the issue other than Gas Masks of the Wasteland, and when in first person theres a constant desaturation filter applied, even with it disabled in the settings holotape. Ive tried enabling then disabling the desaturation filter and it persists. In third person the filter is.

Make sure that all the files in the archive go into your Data folder, and that nothing is overwriting HUDMenu.swf (perhaps DEFUI, or another interface mod.) You can use the auto-patcher to automatically inject HUDFramework into any existing HUDMenu.swf if you have another mod that already replaces it.

Fallout 2287 - Gas Masks of the Wasteland is a mod by D1v1ne122 that adds a constant (optionally weather-based) 'particulate radiation' effect to the Fallout 4 overworld that the player must protect themselves from with gas masks that consume filters and can be damaged in combat.

Gas

It is largely compatible with Horizon, but adds a few gas masks and other items that don't comply with Horizon balance and standards - this can be fixed by using the patch by Terrorforge.

Special Considerations[edit | edit source]

  • By default you get a lot of filters as loot when playing with Gas Masks of the Wasteland. To preserve the resource scarcity of Horizon, it is recommended that you use the optional GMOW Hard Core Drop Rate plugin to limit the drop rate of filters.
  • Gas masks require already scarce adhesive for repairs, and break relatively easily. Be careful when fighting enemies outdoors, and always carry spare gas masks and/or repair kits. Take off your mask when indoors so it isn't damaged in fights, but don't forget to put it back on before you leave!
    • You can avoid having to spend adhesive by simply replacing broken masks with new ones, but not indefinitely. Due to engine limitations, the health status of a gas mask is tied to each individual type of gas mask (including upgrades) rather than the specific item. For example, if your Gas Mask with Goggles breaks, you can replace it with an undamaged Gas Mask (Assault), but if you find a new Gas Mask with Goggles, that one will also be broken.
  • The environmental radiation interacts unfavorably with Horizon's death system. If you die with a broken mask you can't repair and the nearest settlement doesn't have an air filter installed, you will start taking immense rad damage as soon as you respawn and get stuck in an endless loop of dying and respawning that can only be broken with console commands (teleport to a settlement that has a filter or give yourself a new mask/repair kit). You may want to avoid taking control of a settlement if you can't immediately put up a filter.

Known Issues[edit | edit source]

Masks

Currently there seems to be a bug in the Gas Masks installer that prevents the GMOW Hard Core Drop Rate plugin from being added even if you check the right box. To get around this, you can manually extract it from the .rar download and put it in the Gas Masks folder.
