I was just wondering if anyone else has experience in this matter. If indeed, El Capitan breaks CS6 and there is no fix, that may be a deal breaker for me. • There might be conflicts between the updates and any Beta (pre-release) versions of CS6 software. Because I was involved with testing before the CS6 release, I had early versions of several Creative Suite 6 apps installed on my computer. I had already removed the InDesign Beta software, but went back to uninstall the Betas for Dreamweaver and Photoshop as well. This definitely seemed to help! If you were involved in any pre-release testing, be sure to uninstall ALL Beta software, and don't just trash those application folders but be sure to follow the step-by-step instructions to get rid of them completely.
  
  Important: Do not attempt to manually uninstall or remove CS6 beta by dragging folders to the Recycle Bin (Windows) or Trash (Mac OS). Doing so can cause problems with uninstallation, and installation in the future.
  If you've already tried to manually uninstall the CS6 beta, see the instructions for using the Adobe Creative Suite Cleaner Tool.

• Check the Creative Suite CS6 Installation Instructions to learn the safest way to get the new versions onto your computer. It may take an Uninstall and Reinstall of InDesign to get the updates to stick.
  Note that the Uninstall process is no longer as simple as just deleting the application folder, be sure to follow the step-by-step process for either PC or Mac to be sure that it works as intended.
  
  IMPORTANT: Mac OS has new uninstall functionality. DO NOT drag applications to the trash to uninstall them. To safely uninstall on Mac OS X, double-click the product installer in Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers or double-click the Uninstall alias located in the Application folder. Select Remove Preferences, then Authenticate as an Administrator and follow the onscreen instructions.
  The Download and Installation Help page offers lots of tips, including a link to the Troubleshoot Creative Cloud Installation and Download page. Lots of links to follow, and I referenced several of them.

• Rather than going through the Update process from within InDesign, I got the download directly from the Adobe website. Go to the InDesign Downloads page for Mac or PC, and choose the most recent version available, in my case: v8.0.1 for Mac. This direct download may be more stable than the updating process. The resulting AdobeInDesign8Patch-All.dmg is a disk image to mount and then run the AdobePatchInstaller.
  
• The Adobe CSXS InfrastructureCS6 Update is unchecked by default in the Adobe Application Manager. By following the instructions to Click an update name to learn more, I discovered that this 1.1MB update handles the following:
  
  CSXS is the platform that delivers extensibility within Creative Suite products. This update, provides the following: 1) Resolves an issue where certain characters contained in a user's Adobe ID, caused a login failure. 2) Update to CS6ServiceManager that improves the performance of authenticating against the Adobe Identity Management Service. 3) Resolves an issue in CS6ServiceManager with application signature validation, causing any Keychain access to fail the signature validation step. The result of which invalidates the 'Always Allow' option so an alert will always be shown on attempting to access the Keychain.
  Well, it's supposed to resolve issues that cause login failure and improve authenticating. At this point, I figured that it couldn't hurt, so I ran the Infrastructure Update, too.

This problem began for me after installing the PSCS6 beta. I started getting a popup saying 'Adobe Application Manager is missing or damaged' and advising me to download and reinstall AAM. I did that, with no result. The responses from Adobe ('you must have a bad installer'). I was able to leave the beta as it was and use PSCS5.
Fast forward: PSCS6 is released and I purchase and try to install the upgrade, which won't install with the beta present. The Beta uninstaller won't run because of the AAM error. I laboriously search and delete all files related to the beta.PSCS6 release version installs, but when it starts I get a popup witht the same message about AAM. I have spent over 12 hours in chat with Adobe support with only negative results. Not only have they not fixed the problem -- they have managed to propagate it to my PSCS5 installation -- which they subsequently deleted.
As part of attempting to diagnose I have tried the PSCS6 unistaller, which fails with the same error; used the CS cleaner tool and reinstalled -- same problem; verified permissions and file ssytem on my system drive; tried removing CS6 and reinstalling from a new, clean admin account -- same AAM error.
I am at my wits' end with this. I have NO working verion of photoshop (big problem for a photographer/designer), NO confidence in Adobe support (most of the 12 hours was watching them try the same things we had done several times before), and how to fix this short of stripping my Mac back to the metal and reinstalling everything.

The installation of Adobe Extension Manager CS6 failed - while 2 others update for Photoshop CS6 did install. I was installing Adobe Reader X. That's why I discovered the notification from the application manager about updates for CS6 - and I just confirmed that as well.
Apparently the Reader installation blocked only the update installation of Adobe Extension Manager CS6 - saying another installation process was running .. such stuff happens sometimes.
However, it seems Adobes Application Manager update module does not track its failed installations? It does not automatically advertise that update has not been installed and notifying me again to install it. At least not immediately. So how do I rerun the Adobe Application Manager update module to check for updates manually?

I am now getting multiple systems that will not open Photoshop CS 6. As soon as PS starts to open, Application Manager starts and prevents PS from opening. The two applications alternate for control with neither being able to open. This problem is also occurring with Illustrator CS 6 and now has started in Photoshop.
When the 'fight' starts you have to do a forced shut down (power button for 10 seconds) in order to be able to login. Then Uninstalling the application, either by the Uninstaller of PS or by using the ELA uninstaller created when the Install package is created. Systems are Apple 10.8.2 with Adobe Application Manager Enterprise Created installer for Master Suite.
This has now appeared on six or seven systems of the approximatly 200 that got the install. The applications ran normally with no problems for about two weeks bu now the problems are popping up for no appearent reason.
